So this global warming thing is kind of bugging me. I do appreciate the warmer weather (read 34 degrees) especially since I live in Minnesota, which is almost the North Pole. But, I do like myself a white Christmas and I don't think that's happening this year. JB did say I shouldn't talk too soon but I'm not going to let that bum me out.
Since we moved about two weeks ago we decided to skip the big tree and go for an adorable smaller version and while it doesn't smell like a real tree, I decorated it with home-made ornaments and I really like how they turned out :)

I thought I'd show you how I made some of the ornaments in case you're in a hurry to get cute ones 4 days before the holiday. These are super fast, cheap, mess free and they sparkle.

After seeing this and this on Pinterest, I decided it was too cute and easy to pass up.
I'll tell you how to make the first ones now and the second ones in a separate post.

I started with clear glass ornaments, red and silver glitter, and glitter glue (All found at Michael's). The directions on the pinterest ones said to use pledge floor wax I think but I didn't have any and the glitter glue was just 2 bucks.
First off, I had to clean the ornies with a mix of water and vinegar so the glue and glitter would adhere fine. After it's dry, I just put some glitter glue in it, swirled around for a while so the whole interior would be coated and then with a paper funnel, got some glue inside. Again, swirled it around so the whole thing would be glittery and then with the same paper funnel put the remaining sparkles back in the tube.

That's it! Totally mess-free and in record time!

Hope everyone is having a great time waiting for the holidays! JB and I still have a couple of gifts to check off our list but nothing that is really stressing me out so I'm Merry all the way!

xoxo

  1. It's in the 60s this week, so totally not Christmas-like. Those glitter balls are cool though, thanks for showing!
